Peter Willans BSc. (Hons) FCA

Peter graduated as an Applied Psychologist before studying to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in 1980. He trained with BDO-Binder Hamlyn, a major accountancy practice in those days, his work was primarily in the audit of public limited companies. He was with them until 1989 when he left to join a small local practice.

In 1991, he set up his own practice P R Willans & Co and practised until 2016 when his practice merged with Landergan & Co Limited. His own practice saw him carrying out the audit of smaller companies, as well as accounts and tax work with charities, and servicing owner-managed businesses. His Applied Psychology degree comes in useful in analysing financial data arising from management accounts preparation, enabling him to give business advice which results in clients running their businesses more efficiently.

He is married with two children and three grandchildren, is involved with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (part of their Support Member Scheme giving advice to fellow accountants who are under stress), Toastmasters International, his local Dinghy Sailing Club and his local church where he is Treasurer and Trustee.
